Gedik Welding took place at Metal and Steel Fair which was held on the dates of 1st – 4th of May 2016 in Riyad, Saudi Arabia.
International exhibition of Metal & Steel Saudi Arabia is also known as the one of the region’s most important fairs.
As a global expert of welding , Gedik Welding attract a great deal of attention of guests with GeKa, GeKaTec branded welding consumables and GeKaMac branded welding machines. Gedik Welding also made a video presentation about GeKaRobot branded wide range of products and robotic welding technologies.

Istanbul Gedik University Thrives With New Investments
An area of 72.000 m2 has been allocated for the construction of a new campus for Gedik University in Şeyhli, Pendik, which is only 6 km away from the International Sabiha Gökçen Airpost in Istanbul.
The new campus is to include the necessary infrastructure for state-or-the-art facilities for education / training, research, social, cultural and sports activities, and for R&D laboratories, a library and suitable buildings for our facilities, institution and centers for application and research.
Besides, with its target of enhancing R&D and graduate education, Gedik Univesity has a 5000 square meters of space in Technopark Istanbul, which is the largest technopark in Europe where innovative productions, technological manufacture of all kinds are to be supported.

With the participation of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the 3rd of October, Bayraktar which is the first constructed ship of the project AMFIBI Gemi-LST and a vessel that was constructed by the Anatolian Naval Shipyard for Turkish Naval Forces was launched in Tuzla.
Gedik Casting and Valve took part in this project with 100 % home production TERMO branded valves.
International Institute of Nucleer Energy has visited Gedik with its team of experts which included education specialists. During the negotiations which were joined by senior participants from Istanbul Gedik University, cooperation in education was the matter of deliberation between the two companies. I2EN International Institute of Nuclear Energy is an international foundation that coordinates the actions related to nuclear energy and provides training in the same field in France.

“The Biggest Welding Event in the World”
The 68th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference was held in between the dates of June 28th and July 3rd, 2015 in Helsinki, Finland. Totally 885 people from 57 countries around the world attended the 68th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference.
Gedik Educational Foundation represented Turkey as a responsible member of IIW in Turkey during the event. Gedik Welding and Istanbul Gedik University were the golden sponsor of the event. The Event included a variety of committee meetings, workshops, presentations of new welding research findings and social events.
Also, It was officially declared that 71st IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference will be held in Istanbul in 2018.
Professor Stephen Liu – Director (MME) in Colorado School of Mines has been selected for the Halil Kaya Gedik Award. Given annually by the Turkish delegation of the International Institute of Welding, the award is conferred upon a scientist or engineer “who has made outstanding contributions to welding science and technology.” Liu has received his award in 28 June, during the IIW’s Opening Ceremony of Annual Assembly and International Conference in Helsinki, Finland. In addition to a trophy and certificate, the award also includes a seven-day trip to Istanbul, to visit Istanbul Gedik University.
Within the whole IIW history; Halil Kaya Gedik Award is the first international prize awarded by Turkey in the fields of welding science and technology.
The Halil Kaya Gedik Award is awarded annually by the International Institute of Welding, sponsored by Gedik Educational Foundation and Gedik University.
In 2013 Japanese scholar Hideyuki Yamamoto and in 2014 Lars Johansson – The Deputy Chief Executive of Swedish Welding Commission were awarded by delegation.
