GEDIK UNIVERSITY OPENED

Gedik University was opened with a ceremony at the university’s Pendik Campus. Gedik University President of Board of Trustees Hülya Gedik, addressed the students and academic personnel in her speech and said that the University’s one of the most important assests is the nearly 50 years of experience and knowledge in the traing and education.

Hulya Gedik expressed that Gedik University would give the best examples of university-industry collaboration in the near future.

GEDIK’S NEW FOUNDRY COMPLETED

The investment of Gedik’s new casting production facility in Sakarya Hendek 2nd Organized Zone has been completed. Gedik’s environment friendly new foundry spread accross an area of 25 thousand square meter, will be in operation in January 2012.

GEDIK EDUCATION FOUNDATION CERTIFYS NDT AND WELDING PERSONNEL

Gedik Education Foundation’s subdivision Gedik Test Center received authorization from TURKAK (Turkish Accreditation Association) in order to certify NDT and welding personnel. After the inspection made by TURKAK representatives, GTM has recognized as an authorized body to certify welders and welding operators in the norms of TS EN 287-1, TS EN ISO 9606-2, TS EN 1418, ASME Sec IX, API 1104, AWS D 1.1 and to certify NDT personnel in the norms of TS EN ISO 473 in Radiographic Testing Level 1 and 2, Ultrasonic Testing Level 1-2, Magnetic Particle Inspection Level 1-2, Penetrant Testing Level 1-2, Visual Testing Level 1-2.

GEDIK'S MODERN MECHANICAL TEST LABORATORY

Gedik Test Center (GTM) started to provide total solution to companies which use metal in their production and need test services. GTM opened both a NDT laboratory and a comprehensive mechanical test laboratory. The laboratory provides following services: Sample Preparation, X Ray Spectrometer, Mobile Optic Emission Test, Micro and Macro Structure Analysis, Tensile & Compression Test, Bending Test, Charpy Impact Test, Hardness Test.

GEDIK HOSTED INTERNATIONAL WELDING CONGRESS AWST 2011

Gedik Education Foundation and Turkish Welding Technology Academy hosted IIW (International Institute of Welding) International Congress in Antalya, TURKEY on 24-25 October 2011. Nealy 200 welding experts from 26 countries discussed Advances in Welding Science and Technology for Energy, Transportation & Construction Systems in the Congress where hundreds of scientific papers were presented.

Gedik Casting & Valve R&D team developed a new valve type used in natural gas and oil transmission and storage projects. TERMO brand API (American Petroleum Institute) 6D valve series’ are produced and ready to supply
